I arrived a little bit ago, just in time for dinner.
My wife had pulled out all the Halloween decorations and put them up today. It is only September 18.
I guess I don't mind the non-noisemaking decorations, but the ones that make sounds really drive me batty (swish!). She has this spider that hangs from one of the doorways....it is clap activated, so now I get 6 weeks of clapping and Halloween noises. Also, there are candles burning everywhere, which has raised the temp in our living room by about 5 degrees.
My wife is rad. Seriously, she gets such a kick out of this stuff that I can't help but feed off the enthusiasm. Halloween is her favorite holiday. But even for the most gung-ho holiday decorator, this seems to be way too early. I always thought that you had to at least be in the month of the holiday to bust out the decorations (with the post-Thanksgiving Christmas decorations exception, I guess).
Other than holiday stuff, my wife is not a craft person at all. We have literally no crafts in our home. But once a holiday rolls around, out they come.
