Some of you might remember that we set our own personal party bar pretty high a couple of years ago with our son's Harry Potter Birthday party. Well, its that time of year again, and while we aren't trying to outdo the last big one, we've got a fun one planned for this evening.
Are there any Phineas and Ferb fans out there? Best kids show on tv, imo. Its freaking hilarious, especially that zany Dr. Doofenshmirtz.
We are first having the kids play some games based on various phineas and ferb episodes, like chariot races with the kids pushing and pulling the Burley bike strollers (I'm expecting some spectacular crashes - keep your video cameras at the ready). We also have a snow cone machine rented and hope to have enough shaved ice to fill a mini swimming pool and let the kids have a snow ball fight (mind you, its going to be 105 degrees today - thus swinter. Some people prefer to call it wummer).
When its time to eat cake, we will take off the lid of the cake box to reveal a single cupcake in the shape of the real cake. Then i get to show up in cardboard box tv as Major Monagram and inform the kids that Dr Doofenshmirtz has been up to no good and has created a new machine called the cakeshrinkinator. They have 5 minutes to find the evil doctor and the machine, or they will all have to share the cupcake for dessert.
Its a bit of work, but the kids love this stuff. It won't be long before they tell us to bag the party and just give them money.
