    Ellen as new A.I. judge

So what do you all think about this?
I am a philosophical Goldilocks, always looking for something neither too big nor too small, neither too hot nor too cold, something jussssst right. I'll send you a card from purgatory. - PAC

I think she will be more lucid than Paula Abdul.

At first, it's tempting to criticize her lack of professional singing experience, but then I thought back on all the constructive advice Paula gave the contestants, and I figure there's no way she could do worse.

I like Ellen, and I think she'll be entertaining.

First thing I thought about was how Shelly Long's decision to leave Cheers is now the second worst career move. Paula Abdul has now taken the cake.

Second thing I thought was it was an excellent move for both the show and Ellen Degeneres. It's extremely difficult to dislike Ellen and she's also an entertaining person. In addition, she'll be witty enough to mix it up verbally with Simon and make the show more interesting.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

She doesn't know anything about music, but she is funny. So, she is Paula Abdul, only funny. I think it will make auditions must see TV.

She will be a great addition. I wonder if she'll ever get mean with contestants or even offer any criticism.

I think the back and forth with Simon will be great. I'll still only watch the auditions, however.

She is funny, but I don't plan to start watching the show. My only 15 minutes of watching it was enough.

Isn't she gay? It's great to see that she can get that gig, given the rampant discrimination against gays in America. Maybe people are becoming more tolerant.

She was very good on SYTYCD, so I think she will be good on AI, however she seems to recycle a lot of her jokes, so hopefully that doesnt happen.

So is she going to be a full time judge like Paula was? I read earlier this year that they were going make the 4 judge a guest judge that would rotate and Victoria Beckham was going to judge 1 of the weeks.

While on one hand I think it is absurd that she is a judge given no musical background, but on the other, I think she can be representative of the American public. I am anxious to see her and Simon interact.

                          That's debatable.

The guest judges were during the tryouts, they had Victoria Beckham, J-lo, Jessica Simpson, and one of the Jonas queers. Ellen is now officially the new judge for the season.
