    Robes of Righteousness

In preparation for the upcoming ward Christmas party, we have to get costumes for the dudes. Two angels and a wise man.

The Primary President told us that for wise men, "just have them bring their little bathrobes." Afterwards, she moved on to the next thing.

Am I the only one here that doesn't wear bathrobes? I was seriously puzzled when she said this. They make little bathrobes for toddlers? What for? Don't most parents immediately dry and clothe their toddler after a bath?

Neither I nor my wife wear bathrobes or any other sort of robe around the house. Our little kids certainly do not wear them, either. I actually don't quite get the purpose of a robe, but maybe that is a different discussion.

Honesty check here....do you guys rock the robes at home? What about the wife? No judgment, mind you. I am not saying it is good or bad. I just assumed that it was more something you saw in the movies, not in real life. None of my mission comps or roommates wore robes, either.
    Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

I have never worn a robe. At one time I thought it would be really neat to be a robe person so I bought one. I think robe wearing is highly impractical.

It is clear to me that neither of you are home-based day-traders. If I keep on this roll, I'm going to get myself a sweet-ass robe!

Why put on a robe when you can go straight to the silk pajamas and smoking jacket?

I wonder if it is generational? My in-laws wear robes, but they are older.

The strange thing is that my MIL wears normal flannel PJs under her robe. So if she didnt have the robe on, she would be walking around in long-sleeve flannel PJs. Hardly immodest, by any stretch. My FIL does the same.

I wonder if creekster wears a robe?

I've never worn a robe (or pajamas, for that matter), but my mom wore one often and my wife wears one occasionally. I think my mom wore one almost as a substitute for pajamas, IIRC. My wife tends to wear one when she's cold and the PJs aren't keeping her warm enough.

I do not own a robe nor have I ever worn one. Mrs. Grace does own one and wears it occasion. Neither of my parents own a robe nor have they ever.

I love getting out of the shower and putting on my thick terry-cloth robe. I only use a towel to dry my head and feet. The robe does the rest without effort or time. I find my robe makes me more efficient with drying time (by about a 30-45 seconds each day--over 3 hours a year--just think of the possibilities).

And, of course, I look damn sexy in my robe. I often get attacked on the way to the closet. . .

                You guys are missing out.

As landpoke would say, this thread is useless without pictures.

Yikes. Sorry, but if you are going Full Monty under that robe, count me out for bathrobes.

If CSI ever came to your house, they would likely find a slew of DNA samples on the inside of that "thick terry-cloth" garment of love.

I can add a second, with a substitute of Mrs. Grace for Mrs. Sizzle.

I live with my in-laws (a robe in necessary) I can't just walk around in my G's. But I do LOVE my robe anyway, 15$ chenille one from Costco. It was worth every penny.

I do not wear a robe. I have some moose adorned flannel PJ pants of which I am rather fond on cool days, however.

I do own a robe. It is over 20 years old. Someone gave it to me about the time I got married or just after, apparently assuming that I should be wearing a robe. It gets used once a year during the Christmas pageant we traditionally stage in our living room on Christmas eve. As a result, I have no doubt that whenever anyone talks about shepherds to any of my kids their mind's eye sees someone in a slightly faded black velor robe that is far too long.

I have never worn a robe nor to I have any desire to wear a robe. Mrs. Funk owns one robe that she wears occasionally.
