This is why I still lurk on CougarBoard...

I'm back from the bowls of Sodom and Gomorrah...

That's right, I took (escorted/protected) my two daughters to a Kenny Chesney concert at Qwest Field in Seattle last night. As fun as it was, (and it was a blast) it was really strange having a gospel perspective, and seeing all of the debauchery going on. I'm not a stick in the mud kind of guy, and I didn't want to be a wet blanket, so I got a little into it for my daughters sake.

Prior to the concert, on the drive from Portland to Seattle, I told them I was really looking forward to his song, "Anything but Mine," and told them a story about a girl I dated at BYU back in the day. I told this girl that I loved her, and she laughed and said that's not true, you just met me. I said at least you know I have good intentions. So... when the guitar intro came, I clasped my two hands together , and jumped up and down, and feigned a tear. My daughters knew I was joking, but somehow playing along with them was really fun and made the whole experience
    a total night to remember.

On the other hand, I think the biggest divergence in the world is going to a concert, and going to the temple. They are polar opposites. You can see wisdom in the Lord's plan of happiness.

Sidebar Story: Was I wrong? There were 5 girls in front of us, drinking hard liquor from flasks, and they were very snockered. The hard liquor patrol showed up, and I signaled that the perps were illegal. The patrolman watched, and caught them shared flasking, and kicked all five of them out of the concert. Later someone threw a empty cup at me.

Best part of the night was the drive home with one daughter asleep in the back seat, and having a good long conversation with my oldest daughter. We had newly paved roads, and a fine German automobile to make the cabin nice and quiet.

Sidebar 2: Yesterday there was a post about seeing a dead body along the road. On our trip up, we come upon an accident, and we saw a freshly dead person, with gallons of blood on the road. The strangest part was we just read the thread 2 hours previous. - Weird.
Perhaps the most unintentionally funny post I have ever read. I loved the part where he gets the 5 girls kicked out for drinking "hard liquor". Who doesn't know a guy like this?

It must be very tough on him to live in Portland. I will bet he wishes he could move to Provo.

You do have to give him a lot of credit to drive his girls that distance to see a concert.

The totally unneccessary mention of the "fine German automobile" is classic as well. To point out that not only is he righteous, he's been blessed for it!

As someone who has only sniffed CB here and there, I'm beginning to understand your parody of housing photos. Initially I thought it was vain, but I've better understood the context over time.

Does Haddow still have his mansion photo up?

what the heck is the "hard liquor patrol?"

I have been to loads of shows and I have no clue what he is talking about.

Qwest Field is a huge venue. Is he suggesting that there was a group of security going around looking for drinkers? I have never seen such a thing at a show.

He probably means the guys that showed up after he called security to complain.

That post is dead-on something a CUF'er would post to mock what he thinks CB posters are like.

As such, I doubt the author is being 100% truthful.

If that's the case, the guy is genius and ought to be posting over here.

There is a Sodom and Gomorrah bowl now? What are the conference tie-ins?

That's our Elder Lingo, so often presuming to know what goes on in the author's mind.

Look I've told you before, there has been only one omniscient person in history and it's not you. It's not me either, but I do come close.
