But I still feel terrible for him even if he is proven to be negligent as this is clearly a tragedy that he will never be able to fully get over. People like Trump Jr and Candace Owens gleefully pouncing on him are disgusting).

The latest is the search of the set recovered 500 rounds of ammunition including dummy rounds, blanks, and live rounds. It appears very likely that the fatal shot was a live round loaded into the revolver, which I'm not sure has happened on a set before, at least in recent history. The Brandon Lee accident was a weird confluence of an obstruction in the barrel that was propelled by a blank round fired later. This is looking very bad for anyone with any level of responsibility on this project. How are there live rounds floating around the set? How are the guns allowed to be taken for target practice? Just unthinkable even for people who don't know gun safety.
From what I've read, I think it's far more likely that the 24 year-old (how does that happen) armorer has a lot better chance of being charged. At the end of day I'm not sure anyone will be criminally charged, but I think it's a near certainty that people will be civilly charged.

I'd heard that some of the people on set had been using that same gun for target practice earlier in the day using live ammunition. Don't understand why one would have live ammunition on a movie set. Seems like that should be safety rule number one.
      Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

        • I haven't been around a lot lately ( I plan to atone for that ), but

I want to wish everyone a HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

We will celebrating the feast a my father's home - at last count, about 30 will be in attendance. Some others will be dropping in at some point during the day.
I am glad we can celebrate with extended family this year - last year was flat weird with just my immediate familly.

Growing up in the military we always had all of the strays (missionaries, single GIs etc) over for diner, so a crowd is what I always expect. I am looking forward to heading overthere (It is just a couple of minutes away (less than a mile) I will be putting a turkey in the oven here in about an hour - that is the Happyone contribution to the feast.

I may be small, but I'm slow.

A veteran - whether active duty, retired, or national guard or reserve is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to, "The United States of America ", for an amount of "up to and including my life - it's an honor."

            • Happy Thanksgiving, everybody. BYU sports have given us lots to be thankful for this year.

                • My daughter went over to a friends house to work on a "school project" for two days this weekend. She said they had to make a gingerbread house for a math class? Huh?

She showed me the picture today: Gingerbread Santa riding on a gingerbread aircraft carrier. What this has to do with math, I'll never know.

My #1 pet peeve about elementary school education is the focus on "arts and crafts" projects. Holy waste of time.

My kids in middle school get all sorts of things they have to color. Maps, posters, you name it. We do the coloring for them. There is absolutely no value in what they are doing.

This times 1 million. After the age of about 4, gluing cardboard is not going to teach you anything.

My youngest was still assigned crap like this when she was like 13 and it almost made me do something extreme like cast an informed vote in a school board election.

You would love our district. Our kids learn how to do powerpoint presentations at a very young age. I mean there are still arts and crafts, but those are done at the school site. Very few projects where they have to do a lot of crafting at home. First graders even get a Build a Bear where they get to choose the outfit for their bear for an extended writing assignment. My daughter loved that. Some reason having that bear in the room with her made it easier to get her to write the long paragraphs of the little book she had to write about her bear.
