Love the mountains and clouds in the third and fourth pics.

As far as scenics, these are a few of my favorite so far. Lovely evening. The one with the road in the foreground looked better in person, the highlights in the clouds were more spectacular than the image reveals.

Once again, these are fantastic! equal to anything I've seen in Nat Geo!

I may be small, but I'm slow.

A veteran - whether active duty, retired, or national guard or reserve is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to, "The United States of America ", for an amount of "up to and including my life - it's an honor."

Thanks, though that may be going too far.

It's a burrowing owl sitting on its nest. If you're connected to the local birders (as Mark Smith the tour guide is), you can know where every interesting/rare nest site is. The telephone poles along the gravel road are numbered which gets you close, and there is a plastic cup resting upside down on the fence post closest to the nest.

Often there is a car or two parked in front of it also.

As with all communities, there is an advantage to belonging. The birder community is the holder of truths that they hold sacred and will not divulge them to random passers by. They first must assess your level of commitment to certain rites and standards. Weird.

As close as I wanted to be (the lens needed 15 feet or so to focus). The guide picked it up so we could get a closer look.
