My baby brother works for a sunglasses place and won some contest where he gets a free pair of Oakleys. He has four pair already, so he is going to let me choose which ones I want. I can get any pair free up to $250 and over that I have to pay the difference, but get 40% off the difference.

I am overwhelmed by the choice. Do any of you have styles you can suggest I might like? My brother suggested Dangerous or Abandon.

Here's what you do -

Find the pair you really want. Let's just say that they cost $180.

Then get a pair that costs $250 so you can get the maximum amount for free.

Then, sell that pair to someone who really wants it for $200. Go buy the pair you really wanted and then wear that pair as you treat yourself to lunch with the $20 you have left.

The deal sounds like a great one, and there's nothing like a fine pair of sunglasses... but I personally wouldn't be caught dead wearing Oakleys.

Back when OO was a client, I had a vendor card. I could purchase merch at cost. Sunglasses were about $20 a pair. I won't reveal how many pairs of OO glasses I own. It was a bit of an obsession at one point.

They are a very interesting company. Very cool.

Even though they are no longer a client, I can say with all surety that OO makes the best lenses in the business. I can't tell you how many other companies have employed or tried to mimic their XYZ Optics patent technology. The USAF uses OO lenses for their fighter pilots.

That was a great gig. we did a lot of cool work out there.
