Having one of your kids come and tell you that you were right about something and they should've listened.

Watching my kids play in the pool. It’s a completely unstructured play time and they take full advantage. T brings pure joy to their faces, especially when a friend or two are over.

Your small kids' faces when you bring them home a small unexpected gift for no reason. Your baby's face when you go in to get him out of his crib in the morning. The calm that comes over the house when the kids are finally in bed for the night. Laughing uncontrollably with your siblings. Crisp October Saturday afternoons made for football.

More details.Originally posted by Shaka View PostThanks. The big pleasure will happen when I recoup the R&D costs which came out of my pocket. Current sales are funding our first real production run. Up to this point we've only been building one or two at a time while I tweak the design. Sales from this production run will allow me to break even and realize a decent amount of profit.

LOL. I know the feeling. And the relief that comes with a 'no strings attached' call.Originally posted by PaloAltoCougar View PostKnowing my wife is on the phone with one of our kids, and I'm thinking, "What fresh hell is this?," and then after listening for awhile, she laughs. And not just a courtesy laugh or nervous guffaw, but one of genuine delight. Happens a lot, and yet I'm always wary when the call comes in.

Business breakthrough? That sounds more like a big pleasure.Originally posted by Shaka View PostIn the last few months I've been designing and refining the manufacturing process for a mechanical product for boats. This week, with only a bit of word of mouth advertising, my partner and I had our first sales totaling $8k. That was pleasurable. It's also going to induce some stress as our ability to produce my be outstripped by demand. Time will tell.
Congrats, btw.
