    Eagles Nest

This is where we separate the Eagles from the Vultures.

Troop 297. Eagle around 16 and a couple of palms after that. Who else?

At my younger son's Eagle Court of Honor at the beginning of the year, he and the four other boys receiving the award were escorted to the front by members of the Nest, and for most of them that meant their dads were doing this. I managed all of nine merit badges (and I think I bought three of those on the black market), so my older son did the escorting. As he strode past me, Filsdepac looked down his nose, shook his head disapprovingly, and continued on, much to the delight of the sneering audience. Damn you! Damn you all to hell!!!!

I earned three Eagle palms and 46 merit badges by the time I was 16. I loved scouts.

Now I loathe the scout program.

Boyd K. Packer hates Scouting. I'm serious. Notice there was nothing from him on that page.

For those that want the Church to ditch Scouts, there is hope on the horizon as long as he can stay alive.

I managed to squeak mine in just before my 18th b-day. Troop 61. My biggest fear is someday being called to be a Scoutmaster one day.

Not me, but each of my three boys are eagles.

This Robin has landed. Eagle at 16, not another palm or badge after that.

After my older brother failed to get his Eagle, my parents tightened the rules and made sure that I knew: no Eagle, no driver's license. I got my Eagle two months before I turned 16, never did a thing with scouting after.
