Been there ten years. That is longer than anyone since Ernest Wilkinson. First Presidency in charge of that. I wonder how much longer he will stay. No longer serving GA. They haven't called any GA temple presidents the last two years. Former or Emeritus ones. So I don't think they will have a GA on Campus next time around. Wonder how much longer he will be there. My guess to replace him if not GA is Clayton Christensen who was at Harvard. So all the Universities in CES will have Harvard guys at the helm. Kim has been at Y of I for 8 years so next year of two I think there will be replacement. That said Kim is 63 this year so he might just choose to retire in a couple of years. Even though a great deal of former ces presidents have been GA's given his age and the age they are called to be Emeritus I doubt that will happen.

I seriously doubt Clayton Christensen. He is a very controversial figure in Higher Education and I think you would see general revolt among the faculty at BYU. Not that all of the revolt would be justified, but he is not a very popular figure among higher ed faculty. His ideas are coming under some scrutiny these as well (as well as being very, very radical - something I think the church is hesitant to do at BYU). Higher ed does need a lot of changes, but I would be surprised if it were Christensen.
I could see someone like Lane Rawlins who is President of WSU.Tell Graham to see. And tell Merrill to swing away.

He is also 76 years old. I highly doubt they go with him.In 2006, Rawlins announced his retirement as president of WSU. He was succeeded by former University of Missouri System President Elson Floyd in late May 2007. Floyd is WSU's first African-American president."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

Good points - I didn't think he was that old, and clearly I haven't kept track of his career. So he is at the Univ. of North Texas now? Wasn't there a B-grade sports movie about the Univ. of North Texas back in the day??Originally posted by Moliere View PostAhem!
