Getting more comfortable with this thing, but I can't believe how buggy the Mac OS is. Way more buggy than Windows. I thought it was supposed to be the other way around."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

I love Macs but they aren't all that and a bag of chips.

Check the system log when VLC hangs. Run the Console app in Applications::Utilities and select "all messages". Also, check User Diagnostic Reports for VLC crash reports."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.

My Mac never crashes. It works just fine. The buggy things I find are with software like iBank (not apple produced) or Microsoft Office. Never had any problems with anything else. Out of habit I usually reboot the Mac every month or so just to refresh everything, but that is a habit I learned on a PC (although it was much more often back then)."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

I have a several diagnostic reports for VLC hanging but it is all in gibberish."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

Anything interesting in the system log around the time VLC hangs?"If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.
