Ask your friends for recommendations. I brought my laptop with me to Education Week so thati can get some work done. I tried to turn it on, and it decided not to boot. At all. So, it looks like I need to find a new laptop. Do you kind folks have any recommendations? I need it to be a Windows PC so that I can run the programs at work (sorry Uncle Ted), and I'd prefer something for around $600 or so.
What do you do when your laptop kicks the bucket?

I just bought a Dell, and I got $100 off using a coupon code I got from techbargains.comOriginally posted by thesaint258 View PostAsk your friends for recommendations. This one says it will take 25% of any laptop or desktop. ?$QNC1?HSKNR9F"Wuap's "problem" is that he is smart & principled & committed to a moral course of action. His actions are supposed to reflect his ethical code.

Computers in that price range are essentially a commodity -- don't bother trying to get it repaired, just buy a new one and get set up ASAP. The bigger risk is being disconnected from your day-to-day network and being unable to do your work.Visca Catalunya Lliure

I'm a week ahead of you. Just bought HP 3610QM. It sports i7 running at 2.3, 8 gigs-o-ram, 1T HD, Beats Audio, and a fantastic 17 screen." I bought it at Best Buy for $849. It's a little more than some, but its pretty much state of the art for a PC.
