23 year old cured of sickle cell disease by edited stem cells. The first in Louisiana. Just the coolest thing.
Daniel Cressy underwent the procedure at Manning Family Children’s Hospital. The disease is no longer active in his system.
Cressy said his dream of becoming a pilot was almost taken away from him because of the blood disorder. This is pretty cool. Stanford researchers prove in all practicality that the brain is two separate organs. And that the discovery has potential to better study degenerative disorders such as ALS and SMA.

I had a friend who had a son with a disability where the two sides of his brain were essentially disconnected. Only time I have ever heard of that.
