  • What's happenin' in South Central Idaho

Heading to a wedding in Twin Falls. Is there anything to do nearby that would be worth staying an extra day? A quick glance at visitsouthidaho.com makes me lean towards no, but I wanted to get some input.

You can still see the ramp from when Evel Knievel tried to rocket ship over the Snake River Canyon.

Boat on the Snake? Hagerman Horse? Shoshone Falls?

You could base jump off the bridge:

Or go jack rabbit hunting with the locals (warning NSFW):

In case you are looking for something a bit more exciting you could also have lunch with Grapevine. He is not too far from there, I believe. On the way to Grape's place you could see the Shoshone ice caves...

          \

          the concrete indians...

          And the green dino...

Then looping back to SLC you could see the famous birthplace and ranch house where Uncle Ted grew up. You definitely wouldn't want to miss that.

When's your wedding? I'll be there in August for a wedding but I'm hoping to make it a day trip since we'll be in SLC at the time.

Actually, I think this thread reached its apex at post 5 so it's safe to say I have already memorized all things there are to do in and around Twin Falls.

Yes, the caveman riding the green dinosaur is a must see.

Two months later and SIL is pregnant

I never been to the Shoshone Ice caves. See sign that says how far north it is. Shoshone falls good place to picnic. South of Twin FAlls some waterslide. Sligers in Hagerman excellent to go too. Some places to golf. Right now CSi vball and basketball going on plus plenty of HS athletics as well. Dierkes Lake is in Shoshone FAlls. Deseret Book by temple. Places to Hunt and Fish around. Sun Valley and Ski resorts might have mountain biking but dead Spring and FAll. That is some of the things happening in south central Idaho.

I have been to the shoshone ice caves. I recall some legend about an indian princess being found in there frozen or something like that.
