  • Saw the space shuttle headed up the Hudson on a barge this AM

Had a meeting w/ Inc.com in WTC 7 and as I'm sitting there in their conf room some exec assistant comes running in saying that the space shuttle is coming upriver. Was a pretty cool spectacle Here's this pic:

That's a cool pic. Any idea where that shuttle is going? We only got a replica in Houston

That one's going to the Intrepid Museum. Another one is already at the Udvar-Hazy museum at Dulles, one is going to California, and one is staying at Kennedy.

Really cool pic. I used to live in FL and have seen several launches from where I lived on the gulf coast.

As I understand it, this is the Enterprise which is the space shuttle prototype which was housed until recently at the Udvar-Hazy Air and Space Museum near Dulles Airport in Virginia. When the shuttle fleet was retired, Udvar-Hazy got the Discovery and the Enterprise is now going to part of the museum on the deck of the Intrepid on the Hudson river.

Not sure if people posted about it here, but they brought the Discovery here on top of a 747 and did low fly overs of downtown DC so people could see it.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

On a semi-related note, there is a documentary that streamed on Netflix a while back (and might still be available) called "When We Left Earth" which tells the fascinating story of the space program. I highly recommend it.

If I were you I would be very careful there. You might want to wander around some fo the floors and poke your nose into some closets here and there to see if you can locate the explosives that have surely been installed.

The government uses nanothermite for jobs like this, silly. He'll never be able to detect it.

I saw the STS-125 launch from the causeway in Kennedy Space Center. The only closer place to witness a launch is the VIP viewing area. I almost didn't get to see it because the first time I went down it was posponed. But we decided to make a trip back just to see the launch and it didn't disappoint. Spectacular. My only regret is not getting to see a night launch.
