And yeah, taking things off isn't so good, but it was just a piece of plastic probably protecting the bottom of the car. At this point my Audi is worth MAYBE 1000, so I'm not too concerned anymore. I'm truly driving it into the ground.
You'll have to pay too much for a 2009 or 2010. You'll find when looking at any 2-3 year old used Honda, that you might as well just buy a new one. That's what we did with our last two cars -- bought new because I'd rather spend 3k more for a new model rather than get one with 30k miles. I think the prices people pay for 2-3 year old used Hondas are crazy. Either go with something older or buy a new Fit, the new Civic sucks.

Honda's reliability records on some models have been spotty for the past decade, while others have been as good as Toyotas. The Civic and CRV (based on the Civic platform) have been excellent. The Accord after 2003 has been very good, the model before that had some transmission issues with some of the model years. The Odyssey between 2000-2004 also had some transmission issues.

Again, you may end up spending the same amount on a 2010 Civic as you'd spend on a new Fit.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

you'll get the same gas mileage or better out of a VW Jetta, which will likely last just as long, if not longer, does not require the disposal of a large, toxic battery when its service life has been reached, and on average it will cost you $2K less than the hybrid. 2K buys a lot of diesel gas, and if you're handy you can make that gas yourself with used fry oil. Diesel is the better technology, but unfortunately they're hard to come by in the USA.

Are you set on owning a Civic for some reason? I would go with the Honda Fit instead. Very efficient but without all of the extra batteries and other junk.

And after owning a VW for more than ten years and all of the things that have broken on it, I will never consider that brand again.

I'm a pragmatist when it comes to cars, but if you're looking at the Civic, why not save a few thousand and spring for the Carolla? It's what I drive...and there's nothin like rockin' in a 'Rolla.

I bought a car yesterday, and it wasn't the Civic. Ended up negotiating an amazing deal on a 2012 Jetta where my car payment is 45 dollars less a month than it would have been on the 2010 Civic I was looking at. But it was a ten hour ordeal that I have no desire to repeat. Car shopping blows.

No, went with gas. Dark grey. I'm pretty pleased with it.
