    Prices on Delta flights

Why is Delta so much more expensive all of a sudden?
I'm looking at flights 1-2 months out, and the price $100-200 more than the competition.
    I intend to live forever.
    So far, so good.

Don't forget it'll cost you $25 for each bag you have to check each way.

      Unless you're a rewards member!

Which I'm guessing Brian is, since why not just go for the cheaper price if you have no attachment to Delta?
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Wait until tomorrow to buy the tickets. I'm not predicting a drop in prices, but Delta and other airlines will typically match Southwest prices and Southwest comes out with specials on Tuesdays (and they typically run through Thursday). If Southwest drops their prices on your route tomorrow, then Delta will follow and you might get a better deal.

In fact, I only subscribe to Southwest emails because I know I can get the same route for the same price from Delta.

The past few years, Delta has had some awesome price drops for airfares to Europe for March/April/early May.

This year, that hasn't been the case.

A couple of years ago, we flew round trip with on layover at JFK from SLC to Malaga, Spain, for right about $600 per person.

Last year there were deals from Phoenix to Paris for 450. LV to Malaga was under $600 last year for a time.

We are talking all fees and taxes included.

Haven't seen the price drops this year.

I'm guessing...probably incorrectly...that they are hedging against oil prices rising on uncertainty in the middle east?

I'm pricing a trip to Manila right now. $1750 is the least expensive I can find on Delta. And business class is coming in at a very reasonable $10k.

Sadly, southwest isn't at my airport. All my miles are on delta, but travel made me use united the last two trips because the price diff was so big. My next set of trips are to Albuquerque, Seattle, denver, and Hawaii, and delta fares just suck.
Are they trying to save on fuel costs by flying with less passengers?
