Has anyone ever owned a pair of Hook Ups? I had a similar pair of these in college, but different color scheme and slightly different style, but with the Red Eyes cartoon logo. I've never owned a more comfortable pair of sneaks. Hook Ups isnt a common brand but I'd be interested in getting another pair.

Another weird brand is Nice. In fact, I have never seen them for sale anywhere other than the store in Lake Forest, which is now closed. I still have my pair of Nice shoes and they are great.
I think Hook Ups is defunct now. I never got into that skate company. They always had Sailor Moon and crap on their decks.

I love skate shoes and still rock them.

Going back I owned several versions of the Etnies Czar:

I also rocked a bunch of different DCs. My faves were these Syntax:

But my all time favorite skate shoe were the ES Koston 1's. I owned several pair but my two faves were an all white pebble grain leather version with a gum rubber sole and a blue suede with orange accents sole version.

A few of the pairs in my closet:

Nike Air Force 1 ACG. Love these shoes and wear them most often outside of the office.

Nike Air Force 1 Mr. Baltimore. These shoes look cool (to me atleast), but matching them up to the rest of my wardrobe is sometimes a challenge. I don't wear a lot of brown or olive green.

Stan Smith Millenium Green on White. Got these for $40 last year at Nordstrom Rack last summer. Worn them once. I got these mostly for nostalgia since I had the blue on whites my freshman year at BYU and wore them all the time. Very comfortable once broken in.

Basic black on white Air Force 1s. Not the exact model, but very close. My first pair of AF1s.

Nike Lunar Glide 2. Very similar to this pair. Wear them for running and walking long distances. Very light and comfortable.

Nike Shox running shoes of some kind. Very comfy.

Nike Air Force 1 white with gum bottom. Love the look of these.

I know these are not really sneakers, but this will be my next pair of golf shoes, except with the navy laces.

I am not a sneaker head, and so I will enclose my comment in spoiler tags, so that true sneaker heads can ignore it if they wish.

Spoiler for My post of shame.:
I just can't bring myself to buy a pair of shoes that will only last six months of relatively low activity, and two months of running. Just can't do it.

I don't buy sneakers as much as I used to. Still, I usually wear Vans at work. They are pretty comfortable, even with being on my feet most of the day. Here is the current pair:

I also get running shoes pretty regularly. These are my first pair of Nike Free. They work pretty well for Utah games as well.

I do not. I do have lightly freckled skin- which was exaggerated by that particular shot to make it look like I have leprosy or skin cancer, but I have a silverish blonde hair. I do have an auburn tinted facial hair, though. If you were about to clown me for having red hair, allow me to warn you that while I do not, you may inadvertently hurt someone's feelings that does.

Hook Ups was the sickest brand! I never owned a pair of their shoes, but they used to sell all kinds of stuff at this local skate/snowboard boutique store in I.F. I have a 70's style softball shirt of that brand w Japanimae girls on the front, but kind of stopped wearing it when that stuff got big w/ the D&D crowd and was more notorious as being porn. Plus everyone thought I was just rocking Sailor Moon I still think I can pull it off w the right accessories, but it would be an effort.

I got these at the 'rack a few months ago. I don't normally go after Diesel brand, other than the fact their jeans look great for the most part, but I am loving the crap out of these shoes.

While I don't think there's a pair on there that is my cup of tea, I appreciate the fact and think it's amazing that some shoes will look good on some people and completely suck on the next guy... I'll have to post some of the shoes that just didn't work out haha...

Woah awesome! I have a pair of scottish style tartan vans. I'll post a pic later but they are a bit raggedy. Just like those, I have never seen a similar pair.

I usually go just hot water/paper towel combo, but have been known to employ a toothbrush on occasion, which gets most of the grime off the outsole- you just have to rinse the surface often so as to not smudge the grime around that is coming off.

Advanced techniques involve using regular dish soap in concert with the toothbrush, which is nearly fail-proof, and using those Mr. Clean "stain erasers."

You need to give baby wipes a try. They are golden for the quick wipe-downs after a night out on the (filthy) town.

Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”
