  • Trampoline

Well, I went against my esteemed legal counsel on here and purchased a trampoline for Christmas. We were going to wait until we moved but that's not happening until the end of summer, so we decided to put it up.

At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

I don't have legal counsel, other than DH and I am not sure that counts, but we have a mini-trampoline. It is only like 3 feet off the ground so I am not really worried about it. It is almost as good a babysitter as the TV, this parenting stuff is easy.

Trampolines are great. It is one of the few "toys" my kids have that gets regular use.

We've had ours for about 7 years now and no injuries yet.

        Where'd you get your trampoline?

We got one yesterday, a 12' from Sporting Authority. I like the look of yours better. Our net is inside the blue cover, but I like to sit on the cover when we take turns doing tricks, and the net being on the inside of the blue cover makes that hard.

Most common injury is a forearm break when two kids jumping on the tramp.

Is bigger always better? Now that we have a bigger yard, Santa will be bringing a trampoline for Christmas. He is wondering if the 12' will be sufficient to satisfy our needs, or if we should explore the possibilities of a 14' or even a 15' (Sam's has a 15' one on sale this weekend for $199--regularly $350). Does anyone have any input? Kids are currently 9, 6, 3, and newborn, if that matters. Is one size more durable than another, all things being equal? Or is it more about the brand than the size? While it will be above ground initially, I plan on putting it into the ground next spring. Again, not sure if that matters.

ours is a 15' and the PC love it. im taking it down this week, in fact, because old man winter is on his way. ours is a jumpking and we have enjoyed the quality. in ground is pretty sweet because I dont have to see it nor does anyone else unless they are standing right by it.

We got this one last year. It's a lot of cheddar, but by girls both do trampoline routines in gymnastics. Other than the outrageous price, we love it.

Your picture didn't show up, but I saw on fb you have a springless. No way I'm springing (!) for one of those at this point.

For some of us it comes really naturally. What can I say?

I've had two tramps in Vegas over the years. Be prepared for them to last about 2-3 years tops in the Vegas sun, no matter how nice they are. For that reason, I would go for a cheaper one. You can always buy a replacement mat, as well as replacement enclosures, if they wear out.

As for the size, we've had a 12-ft and a 14ft. I would go for the 14 ft. or bigger, especially if you expect to have 4 or more kids on there at a time, which you will sometimes.

Falafel is right on the size. The extra room is important for multiple jumpers.

We aren't getting one because I refuse to put the silly net walls up on the side. Apparently that's a must for ldc to have a tramp in our yard.
