Go to the Apple Store. Of course, if Brazil didn't have those crazy ass high tariffs and other taxes they would have at least one of those by now. You're welcome.Originally posted by Viking View PostThis is all very helpful. Thanks
Get you an installation disk or an installation image on an USB drive. Power cycle the system. During the initial startup tone hold down the alt/options key. This should bring up a selection of all the bootable media that the system has access to. Boot off the installation disk or an installation image on the USB thumb drive. Once up in the installation program run Disk Util to see if you can repair the corrupted disk. If you can't then just install (actually upgrade) the operating system. This should replace the corrupted OS files and getting your system booting and running again."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.

Have brother number 2 create an "image" of the DVD install disk. I'll give him access to my server where he can upload it, then I'll send you the link. Then you use software to make a bootable DVD from the image."Don't expect I'll see you 'till after the race"

P.S. If you are running SnowLeopard or better you might have a recovery partition installed. This will show up when you do the reboot and hold down the alt/option key. In that case you may not need an installation disk and can run Disk Util and/or update to Lion via the internet."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.
