  • 2011: I'm thankful for ______

So, I've been thinking lately that I'm really thankful for vaccinations. Reading old stories about the 19th Century, it was common to watch your children die from diseases that are no longer a threat.

With three little ones in my world, I'm very thankful for vaccinations.

What are we thankful for this year?

I'm also thankful for modern medicine for keeping two of my family members alive.

But most of all I'm thankful for the Pac 12. It is the one large, breathtaking concept that sort of encompasses all the others.

Pretty sweet, isn't it? I sent it on to him after receiving it as part of a ppt to an aviation mailing list. Here's the full-sized pic.

That's a great thing to be thankful for. Looking back on some genealogy lists, I see an ancestor who gave birth to 11 kids, of which 3 lived to adulthood. That would be really rough. I'm also thankful for an awesome wife and great kids.

I am thankful that I do not suck at life, like a lot of other people I have met lately.

Right, Kai Tak is the old Hong Kong airport. Short runway and mountains to clear made for interesting landing pattern. I don't know for sure that this picture was from there; the ppt didn't have any captions. It had about 26 images of planes flying very very low, including a couple of crashes. Send me your email address if you want me to forward it to you.

I am familiar with it. We flew in to Hong Kong but it was a couple years after the new airport was built.
