These guys seem to believe the Atrix 2 at $99 is a great deal. But why aren't you looking at the Samsung Galaxy S II?Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

I wonder if its been programmed to recognize names at all. There could be a million variants in names and pronunciation, making it very difficult program.Originally posted by UtahDan View PostSo far I like the voice command feature except that for some reason it doesn't recognize my contacts.

No it works fine if I ask it a complicated name and want to search google for that name. I have no difficulty saying to it "Call Five Guys in Fredericksburg" (which is not a contact). But if I ask it call my wife it tries to Google search here name. Annoying.Originally posted by falafel View PostI wonder if its been programmed to recognize names at all. Hmmm. No idea then. Where are you accessing the voice search? For example, on my HTC phone, voice search is often an input method alternative (i.e., I can choose keyboard, or voice input). If I'm in google and choose voice search, it will search google. I'm assuming you're using it from within your contacts?Originally posted by UtahDan View PostNo it works fine if I ask it a complicated name and want to search google for that name. Also I have now found that the 'Voice Command" program has no difficulty doing any of these things. It just annoyingly talks back to you.Originally posted by UtahDan View PostNo it works fine if I ask it a complicated name and want to search google for that name. Well the selling point is that you put it in a widget on your home screen and supposedly you can access all kinds of commands with it. But the voice recognition is all over the platform pretty much anywhere there is a keyboard. And no, it seems not to make a difference if I do it while in contacts. Though I have no difficulty dictating posts in tapatalk.Originally posted by falafel View PostHmmm. No idea then. Where are you accessing the voice search? Amazon has a deal going on this weekend where you can get any phone for $.01 when signing up for a new plan. I just grabbed an Atrix 2 for my wife and a Galaxy S II for myself."I don't mind giving the church 10% of my earnings, but 50% of my weekend mornings?
