So I sell some golf clubs on ebay. I have my daughter handle it. And she's late getting the clubs out. 4-5 days late, but gets them out. About a week after the sale, buyer opens up a case on Ebay demanding a refund, saying he's tried to contact me three times and not hearing from, and he's angry he hasn't received his clubs and suspects fraud. I respond, telling him I don't want to refund, the clubs are in the mail (USPS ground). A week later he escalates the case in Ebay. I try to respond, but the case is closed and gone to Ebay's decision team. Later that day I get note saying they decide in favor of buyer and give the guy a full refund. Shiz.

Oh and I just went back and looked at my message to the guy I sent immediately after his first contact with me. I apologized and gave him my name and phone number and said call if you want to discuss. -
Do you have a tracking number or delivery confirmation? How did the buyer pay? Paypal, money order, etc.Comment

Late delivery is pretty serious. The guy probably went and bought clubs elsewhere when your clubs didnt arrive, and doesn't want yours anymore. Or, he just changed his mind, and your late delivery provided him with the excuse he needed to rescind.
He won't buy your clubs. Sell them again. You might get a better price. Better yet, wait until next April and then sell them. Way better price.Comment

All of those sites (Ebay, Amazon, etc.) have very favorable policies for buyers. I sold a textbook on Amazon once, and the buyer had me send it to some relative in prison. The book doesn't get there, and she freaks out demanding a refund. I refused because I sent the book, but in the middle of the debate, the book comes back from the prison. It turns out they don't accept hardback books from anyone but bookstores, so they returned the book--after they had torn the binding to shreds (probably because they were looking for contraband). Hackers raid eBay in historic breach, access 145 million records
(Reuters) - EBay Inc said that hackers raided its network three months ago, accessing some 145 million user records in what is poised to go down as one of the biggest data breaches in history, based on the number of accounts compromised.
It advised customers to change their passwords immediately, saying they were among the pieces of data stolen by cyber criminals who carried out the attack between late February and early March.
