  • Do you have a pool table in your house?

And if so, does it get much run?

I have always thought that air hockey and pool tables are basically expensive storage units for laundry or boxes, but obviously someone out there is putting theirs to proper use. And they can be fun if you play enough.

    1. Do you have a pool table?
    2. Brand/size?
    3. Color of felt?
    4. Do you regret having one?

There are several used pool tables for fairly cheap out there, I'm pretty surprised. So re-sale is not a great option. Wondering what the masses think. Maybe foosball is the correct answer.

We always used the ping pong table much more than the pool table.

I prefer ping-pong, folds up in the garage and can be rolled around easily.

We have an air hockey table that gets heavily used. If I had room I'd add ping pong and only after that pool. I just think my kids would trash the felt on a pool table.

We have a foosball table upstairs and ping-pong table that we keep on the back porch. Both don't take up much space and the kids love them.

My parents had a pool table that I used fairly regularly.

When I was about 10, I had my electric car race track set up on the pool table, then a giant Lego city, and finally I used it as a defacto football field to play football games on with teams assembled from my football cards (this was before EA Sports brought Madden to console gaming).

When I was in Jr. High, but more so in High School, my friends would gather at my house and we would play pool a few times a month. I would play with my dad maybe once or twice a month. We enjoyed it.

I think if I had my choice though, I would rather have a ping pong table, just because a pool table takes up so much space and a ping pong table is a little more portable and a lot less heavy.

I would go with the pool table. When 8-ball and 9-ball get boring you can always do this:

I have a pool table in my house.

Brand: American Heritage with 3 piece Italian Slate
                Felt color: DSORB
Usage: Maybe 5 times in 5 years all 5 times when we have had company over.
Regrets: Not really although whenever someone mentions they are in the market I try to unload it.

We have a ping pong table top for it that gets much more usage. (Although still not a ton).

The entertainment piece we use the most is actually our dart board. That is a lot of fun.

                  3. Color of felt? Green
                  4. Do you regret having one? Hmm... Maybe a little. Doesn't get used as much as I had hoped.

My brother has one. They entertain a lot, so theirs gets used all the time.

I think I like their vintage pacman arcade game better.

I have one. I am too lazy to go and look at the brand. Red table top. Not used much at all especially now the youngest has moved out of the house.

I don't regret it. The money I spent on it I would have probably lost on options anyway.

My parents have an air hockey table that does a good job of disguising itself as a really big shelf.
                        Not that, sickos.

Don't buy a cheap pool table. My in-laws did that and it sucks. The table isn't quite level and there is no way to make it level since the felt surface bows to the sides. They paid a coupel hundred bucks, and while it's fun for a 6 year old to mess around on, having a serious game of pool is impossible.

I much prefer ping pong (seriously I'd whip anyone on this board) and darts (used to be good at this as well).

The slate tables usually don't bow. It is those weird composite ones that might do that, I agree. I'm only looking at slate. But used slate is surprisingly inexpensive, as well. I should clarify...I thought a used slate table would cost me a few thousand. Turns out people are trying to dump them for 1000-1500. Several on KSL for 800 range. One guy in Orem is selling his for $95. And it doesn't look really awful, believe it or not. Red seems to be the color of choice, with green right behind. There is even a ridiculous looking custom slate table on KSL that is made almost entirely out of Corian . If Batman, Robocop, or Emeril had a custom table, it would be that one on KSL.

I think Ohio Blue would give you a run for your money at ping pong. If I'm not mistaken, he is even in a league or something. No question you would beat me, though.
