Need some help with Blackberry and SIM Card

I am hoping someone can help me with an issue I am having with my new 8820 Blackberry phone. I bought a unlocked AT&T 8820 Blackberry phone with Wi-Fi. I currently am using a unlocked AT&T 8700c Blackberry phone. I figured my SIM card would be ok but I am now trying to put my SIM Card in my new Blackberry and it seems to be to big for the slot.

Will my SIM card not work with this phone? I notice the SIM card is big and could possible be cut to fit but I am not sure that is the best approach. Or if I need to return the phone and get my money back because my SIM Card is not going to fit. If I can cut the SIM card I am OK with that.. Just wanted some feedback..

    TIA

make sure it's not the micro sd slot. sim card size is standard (unless it's one of the global blackberries designed to use international sim cards (which i'm not even sure are different), then you're on your own).

      I'm an idiot.

I was trying to put the SIM Card in the wrong location.. There in the middle is what looks like a slot that I thought it should go, but that is not the location.. It looked like the location, but I have now found it..

I hear that can happen. Just keep at it and you'll get the hang of it.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Thank goodness he decided not to trim his equipment to fit the slot.

Yeah, I was like all when I read that. Go to specialist first before doing anything drastic like cutting.

New question not related to sticking it in a slot or cutting it..

How can I transfer my contact without using the Blackberry Desktop. Is there a way?
