Then it became "Take Your Children to Work Day" a fun day to show your kids how boring your life really was.
Then lawyers got a hold of it, it became sanctioned, and it is as good as dead.
We have "Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day" at my place of employment (note the nod to feminist roots by the strategic placement of "Daughters" before "Sons"). There are many guidelines and emails that are sent out.
My daughter has been asking when she can come in to work with me. I'll just bring her with me in a few weeks, when it will be much easier.

- All activities must have the site leader's authorization
- Children must be supervised by a guardian at all times
- Children must be between the ages of 9 and 17
- Those bringing a child must pre-register the number and ages of children
- Children cannot ride any company shuttles or other transportation
- A "Hold Harmless" agreement form must be completed and signed prior to the child's arrival
- This agreement is a full page of 9-point text, and, among other things, agrees that the company will not be liable for any claims, and the children may be photographed and used for PR purposes.
