Nasty virus going around the school

Are any of you dealing with a very potent stomach virus that seems to be making the rounds amongst the kids?

Everything was fine at home and the other night our son comes in at 3 am smelling awful. He had thrown up and did so again several times that night. The next day was no more vomit, but frequent trips to the bathroom. By the second day, everything was back to normal with him.

One of daughters repeated the same process a night later.

Right now I'm up with our third daughter because all of a sudden tonight she got the bug. It is horrible.

My wife said that there have been a load of absences this week at the school because many of the kids have this bug. We had absences today at work that I assumed were for basketball reasons but now I'm wondering if these folks are similarly ill.

I've been washing my hands like crazy trying not to catch this thing but it has been a rough week on the kids. It looks like The Exorcist or something.

Two oldest had the Ohio version of that virus about a month ago.

grandson had it a couple of weeks ago - nasty stuff!

I may be small, but I'm slow.

Get well! That virus knocked down my whole family for a week+ back in January. The kids, the Mrs, and I all cycled through it. Good times!

This thing is back. We dont know whether it is the same thing that they keep passing back and forth or whether none of them has fully recovered from the one instance of illness.

A week or so ago, all 3 of them were sick for a couple of days. Then they were fine. Everything back to normal. Last night, same thing happened again, all 3 of them became sick with the exact same symptoms.

Could this be rotavirus? There is a lot of throwing up so perhaps not.

My daughter is home sick today out of the blue. We all had colds a few weeks ago but none were throwing up. It is really scary when my daughter throws up because she usually blacks out briefly as well. She's done a couple face plants in the past. This morning she made it to the bathroom and narrowly missed smashing her head on the bathtub.

Sorry to hear that. If your daughter's symptoms follow the same path as everyone in our household, she will throw up a couple of times in the first 24 hours. By the end of Day 2 she will be feeling pretty much all better. By day 3 it will be like nothing ever happened.
