I believe its because it sounds like the combination of the words "hand" and "cock." Can you imagine, seeing a rooster with hands walking down the street? Those children were quite imaginative!

That is what I was hoping at first as well. So far the names have not been all that crazy/best.

That's funny that the first one you posted was Jones Sausage Rd. Going to the beach, that was always a welcome sign, definitely my favorite street/road name in the world.

Friends visiting from the U.S. commented that "take-shit-a" was an odd name for a street.
