For any that might be interested an update. ldc and I leave tomorrow night flying from Portland to Detroit (Rock City) to Frankfurt to Addis Ababa. Arriving late on Saturday night.

We will go to our court date on Monday, then on Tuesday we will travel to the care center in Durame where he is staying and get to spend 2-3 hours with him. My excitement is only off set by my nervousness.

Thanks to all for the positive wishes in this thread and in private, I appreciate them.

I'm loving this story and anxiously await details of the trip. Meanwhile, HFN should check out The Diner as I'm sure there's a helpful thread on the best eateries in Addis Ababa.

Have a good and safe trip.

We will be there 5 days. The timeline to bring him home is 5-10 weeks after this trip. It has to be finalized by the Ethiopian govt then go through some process with the US embassy so that he will be an American citizen from the moment we get him.
