Seriously, if you want him to learn some Amharic, find someone in your area who speaks it, and figure out how to get them together. Sorry for a brief thread detour, but on our ride yesterday morning, we were talking about the later rendezvous with the HFNs, and I mentioned I wished we'd gotten them a small welcome home gift (since they were traveling, the big screen TV I had intended to give them wouldn't have qualified as carry-on).
