    Snow blower recommendations

My snow blower is now history. Any suggestions for a new one?

Are you sure. I thought mine was. One wheel wouldn't. It became very difficult to use it, especially going uphill. I had spent some bucks on the thing a few years ago and it wasn't working right again.

I bought a brand new one and gave the half working one to my kid.

I asked my boy the other day how it was working. He said great. A pin had fallen out and when he put one back in it works great.

How much snowblower do you think you need? I've had a little Toro single-stage model for 15+ years, and it works great. Gets a little overwhelmed with sticky snow or snow deeper than about 6", but gets the job done. I have a neighbor who has a 2-stage snowblower that doesn't get used much because it's overkill for most of the snow storms we get.

            Something like this:

I have a snowblower, but I rarely use it. A plow on a 4-wheeler is a lot more fun.

Now that all their kids have moved out my parents finally bought a snowblower.

I'm now in the market for a snow blower and I figure that summer is the best time to buy one. If I wait 4 more months, the prices will be much higher.

From what I gather, John Deere should be avoided....or at least the TRS line of John Deere, which is the most common one Im seeing on the used market. The newer ones are made by Briggs and Stratton, so they are getting better reviews. But John Deere brand is much more expensive

I see a lot of Toro for sale, Yard Machines by MDT, and Poulan, . Both seem to receive favorable reviews.

I'm looking at a Poulan Pro 2-stage, self propelled model that should do the trick, but wondering if anyone has any experience with the Poulan snow thrower. Their throwers seem to have very favorable reviews. I'm also looking at a Yard Machine. Also, has anyone noticed a quality difference between 1-stage and 2-stage?

I have a Toro that has been in use for a decade. Runs like the day it was bought. It's one of the bigger models.

One of the few things I miss from Utah is snow blowing/shoveling.

Go with 2 stage - they handle wet heavy snows better with less clogging.

This is what I use, I'm too cheap spend $200+ on something I'll use two - three times a winter. Although as I get older, I'm starting to rethink that position

I may be small, but I'm slow.
