    Driving to Utah right now

and the roads look bad no matter where I go. I-40 was shut down earlier in NM and there ain't no way that I'm doing the Gallup to Shiprock stretch in the snow. Plus Monticello looks like it is going to get screwed tonight. So that route is over.

How bad does I-70 look tomorrow? I have been monitoring on my iPhone as best I can but am a bit worried about Vail Pass. Anybody taken that in serious snow before? I've done it in moderate snow. Anticipating getting to Denver about 9:00-10:00 local time (we're in Dallas now).

Don't know if this will work on your phone or not, the roads look pretty good on the trip cams going into vail.

I've done Vail pass in moderate/heavy snow at night. Road markers were difficult to see. We just got behind a semi and followed. Max speed was 40 mph.

We are now just outside of Wichita. Nobody awake but me.

Hang in there... we're pulling for you. A berry flavored 5 hour energy would be good about now.

I've got two girls driving home from Rexburg tomorrow. Let's all keep our fingers crossed.

No can do - 5 hour energy makes me pee like crazy. But I just got an hour of sleep while the wifey drove.

Based on weather and live camera shots (long live smartphones!) we are going up through Wyoming. In Fort Collins now. Looks like we will beat the storm up there and make it to Utah tonight. Hardest trip I've done in a while - I haven't driven through the night in 8 years.

And the BYU game is on XM so i get to listen too!
