    Switching to Dish...

So, I finally joined this century and purchased an HDTV for my living room. My original plan was to keep DTV through March so I could watch all the hoops games and switch to Dish, but man, I don't know if I can wait that long to get HD service.

I do NOT want to upgrade with DTV and get stuck with another contract. Switching to dish will give me HD DVR service and I will save 35 bucks a month over DTV for the first year and 20 bucks a month after that. That is hard to pass up. The only thing holding me back is the thought of missing all the BYU games on the mtn.

    So, two questions:
    1. You people that don't have the mtn, have you noticed that all/most mtn games can be found on justin or adthe?
    2. What local Utah company is currently giving the best promotions to sign up with Dish?

    Thanks!

I think all NCAA games will be on TBS, CBS, or TruTV this year. No Mega-March Madness needed.

I don't know but 1280 advertises the hell out of the dish professionals and groove satellite.

$24.99 a month for a year with HD free for life? yeah, that's a decent deal, especially when all I want are sports channels and BYUTV.

I'm probably going to just do it this week. I will have to find a friend to watch mtn games with.

Excited about HD and a half price bill though.

As one who never switched from Dish despite the absence of the mtn, I say welcome.

I assume you mean TO Dish?

I'm contemplating switching to Dish as well. I think I still have a couple months left on my DTV contract but the moment that is finished I'm most likely switching. I just can't stand the horrible DTV DVR. The time lag on the remote is horrendous and I have recently been having to reset the DVR once a week as it will freeze on me (reseting the DVR takes at least 30 minutes).

My wife made us switch back to Dish when the contract was up in September. Thought I would miss most of the BYU road games. But I found them on the internet. I am glad we switched back. The Directv hardware sucks.

I switched back last week, but kept DTV long enough for the game on saturday. Dish receiver is so SO much better than Direct.

I am so glad to be done with DirectTV. They were horrible.

I only wish BBCAmerica was in the lowest tier package and then it would all be perfect.

One thing that is wierd, the ESPN feed seems way better with Dish. It was always the worst HD channel on DTV, seemed dark, and games looked way better even on the MTNhd. Now it looks great on Dish. Hooray for me.

I have consistently maintained that Dish's HD picture is superior to that of DTV. I've noticed this at a number of DTV users' homes, and consistently, the HD picture seems noticeably worse.

Anyone besides Drunk Tank have ATT Uverse? And if so...what are your thoughts?

I am getting some cable/network wired run at the house, and once that happens I am going to be pulling the plug also.

Just made the call to switch to Dish. The only channel I will miss is AMC (besides the mtn for the next 4 months) for the Walking Dead, but I can find those episodes online.

My bill will be 40 bucks a month less than my current bill with DTV and that includes HD service which I don't have now. After 12 months, my bill will still be 25 bucks cheaper than DTV. I also got a 100 dollar gift card to amazon for signing up. So long DTV, I won't miss you or your crappy DVR and delayed remote control.
