Okay, maybe hate is a strong word, but I am just not a fan of watching Macys Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years Tournament of Roses parades. Maybe those parades are a bigger deal in real life. We go to our citys July 4th Parade, but I do that for the kids who dont really seem to enjoy it that much either. Maybe I would enjoy the Rose Bowl parade if I were heading to the game... but in general, not my thing. My wife, on the other hand, loves watching them. Am I just a big bah humbug because I can't get into the Parade scene at really any level/am I the only one who feels that way?

My daughter went nuts for the Hello Kitty balloon in the Macy's Parade today. Growing up in Southern California watching the Rose Parade was a big deal. It's a tradition in most singles wards down there to have a New Year's Eve Dance followed by a big breakfast and then heading down to the Parade.Originally posted by Sizzle View PostOkay, maybe hate is a strong word, but I am just not a fan of watching Macys Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years Tournament of Roses parades. Going to the rose parade is a lot of fun, esp if your team is playing in the game. Half the fun of the rose parade is sleeping out the night before and staying up all night on Colorado blvd watching the people and cars. It is a great people watching event.
Watching parades on TV...no thanks. My mom turned on the Macy's parade this morning, none of the kids cared. Back to video games after about 15 mins.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

I hate parades unless I'm on St. Charles Ave in New Orleans and people are throwing shiny things at me."Wuap's "problem" is that he is smart & principled & committed to a moral course of action. His actions are supposed to reflect his ethical code.

I hate them too. The Rose parade I can tolerate, but the Macy's parade sucks for adults. Everytime they have some new hit wonderkid singing I wonder to myself "How much did their studio pay to get them into this parade?" I did like seeing NY after my trip this past year.
My kids love parades. My girls watched the whole thing. You should have seen their eyes light up when Santa came at the end. They had truly priceless expressions on their faces."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

This morning was pretty bad. They had Keri Hilson singing a song with these lyrics:Originally posted by Eddie Jones View PostI hate them too. The best part was they had all these little girls dressed like "princesses" on this pink castle float, along with their parents, all trying to dance to this "music," and I swear you could see the "WTF?" in everyone's eyes. They muted the "derriere" which leaves the "it" of "touch it I'm a bury" up in the air, maybe even more inappropriate. The video gets funny at about 1:04.My name is Keri, I'm so very
Fly oh my it's a little bit scary
Boys wanna marry looking at my derrierre
You can stare but if you touch it I'ma bury
Pretty as a picture
Sweeter than a swisher
Mad cause I'm cuter than the girl that's with ya
I ain't gotta talk about it baby you can see it
But if you want I'll be happy to repeat it
My name is Keri, I'm so very
Fly oh my it's a little bit scary
Boys wanna marry looking at my derrierre
You can stare but if you touch it I'ma bury
Pretty as a picture
Sweeter than a swisher
Mad cause I'm cuter than the girl that's with ya
I can talk about it cause I know that I'm pretty
And if you know it too then ladies sing it with me
All eyes on me when I walk in,
No question that this girl's a 10
Don't hate me cause I'm beautiful
Don't hate me cause I'm beautiful
My walk my talk the way I dress
It's not my fault so please don't trip
Don't hate me cause I'm beautiful
Don't hate me cause I'm beautiful

I saw that one and wondered why it was muted. I couldn't think of anything that rhymed with "very" that was bad enough to be muted.Originally posted by wuapinmon View PostThis morning was pretty bad. They had Keri Hilson singing a song with these lyrics:
