Rarely. I'm insured and my wife has a degree and could provide for the family if she blew all the insurance money.

My main worry is that she would get remarried and sealed to the new guy. I don't want my wife sealed to someone else.

Kind of the opposite-- I am sort of hoping I'll get hit by a bus while I have no dependents. These student loans aren't going away otherwise.

Rarely. However, it is more of an understanding than a fear. I have had that feeling for a long time.

I am similar, but more with my kids. When they think of the word "father", I don't want them thinking of anyone but me. It's kind of selfish, but I don't care.

My wife has already told me that if I die she will never get married again. Not sure how to take that one.

This might sound weird, but I've thought about this recently, even before Indy made the thread. I also wouldn't remarry, unless it was outside the temple. That would most likely mean a non-member, which I probably wouldn't do unless my kids were grown up and moved out of the house.

It's funny that a concept as wonderful as the "eternal family" is one of the reasons as to why I would stay a widower. Of course, my wife will most likely outlive me by two decades (based on family genetics) so I'm not worried.

You can just wait until they go to sleep and then play country music really loudly. They'll never know, even if they do wake up.

I'd take it as her saying marriage to you has been a horrific experience that she doesn't want to risk duplicating.

I am not 'scared to meet my maker'.

                      We are sufficiently insured.

My wife would like me to remarry. Sometimes I fear she may have somebody in mind for my replacement...

My kids, however, need their father and my wife needs her husband. For these reasons I have a big FOD (Fear Of Death) and don't take risks the way I used to when I was younger.

I pretty much agree with you, though I pretend to myself that she means that no other man could ever hope to match me.

That is correct, unless you consolidated both spouses' into one loan.
