    McWeddings: I'm Lovin It!

McDonalds Asia to start offering wedding packages, including full catering (strictly McD fare, of course) for only a few hundred bucks.

The cake is made of fried apple pies.

I wonder if this will take off briefly amongst hipsters.

a spokesperson for the fast food giant talked about all the couples who had their first date at McDonald's, or had met at the restaurant "making it particularly meaningful and memorable to hold a wedding party there."
It would be pretty sweet if you could opt for Mayor McCheese to read the vows.

    Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

Why did McD's stop offering the fried cherry pies, sticking only with the apple? I know it's not right, dammit, but I loved those things.

Hmmm, filsdepac has a wedding coming up next spring. Maybe I should help with the arrangements. Fried cherry pies and McD French Fries would be better are than what was offered at some recent nuptial bashes I've attended.

This is what Utahans mean by 'macking.'

I was just thinking about this. It actually wouldn't be a bad idea. All the kids would be in heaven eating nuggets and fries. Elderly wedding guests could steal as many napkins, coffee creamers and ketchup packets as they could fit in their little purses. And while I am fairly strict about not drinking calories, you would basically have to tear me away from the Hi-C Orange drink fountain.

Greeting guests in the reception line is a snap: drive through window.

The other advantage at an asian McDonald's is the fresh corn cups. I personally ate an entire dozen fresh corn cups one morning in Hong Kong, and that impacted my whole trip! They were delicious, and oh, so cleansing.

I can't imagine the line for the fresh corn cups at an asian McWedding. It would be like when an In N Out opens in Utah, except most of them would have no concept of a line, or how to wait in it.

However, if the wedding spread also included cold Pocari Sweat, I would risk any mob like scene at the corn cup distribution area to attend the event. In fact, I might turn into the Owen Wilson of asian McWeddings.

I don't know how you found this little tidbit, but please keep us updated on the progress here. This could literally change the future.

The drive through window for the reception line also deserves a thumbs up. The attendants and parents could appear on the menu boards and you could converse through the squawk box, but be sure to allow plenty of room between them and the bridal couple who will be at the pick-up window. I want to be able to race past the initial intros and not get stuck talking uncomfortably to strangers I'll never see again. I hate that. Also, Cheese Burglar should be the ring bearer.

I'm hoping Pocari Sweat is merely a brand name for an exciting but innocuous beverage, but I've been duped before when I assumed a food name wasn't literal. Flaming Hogs Balls? Never again.

Without a drink that would be dry macking.

All this talk of hogs balls and sweat reminds me that you still owe me a weekend of fun and friction due to my performance during the outing at Hobble Creek.

Boardmail me the deets! (wink, wink)

Will do, right after I compose myself and squeegee my computer screen.

Pocari Sweat is a tasty mild grapefruit sports drink kind of thing with a hint of saltiness. I didn't like it at first, but it's become an obsession. It's just got that certain verve. Or perhaps schwerve. You just can't stop. There's a meth addict strength urge to pop open another can just as soon as the previous can is consumed.

I can't explain it, but I can testify that if one drinks enough of it, it makes the odor of one's urine almost tropical.

I might look into a few bottles. Currently, I would rate my urine as sub-Saharan, at best. I'm looking for a change.
