    It's Rodeo Time!

The one time of the year when the entire town engages in drunken, Paint Your Wagon style debauchery. As such, here is a list of the things I regret doing or will regret doing today:

    Regrets thus far:

Coming into work instead of meeting the boys down at The Pony for early morning shots (you can't drink all day if you don't start first thing.)

    Will regret:

Meeting the boys later for "most of the day" drinking at The Pony.

    Going to the rodeo.

Paying $75 for crappy food and an open bar at the Gold Buckle Club

Deciding that it's a good idea to try a few rides at the carnival after the crappy food and open bar at the Gold Buckle Club

The seemingly innocent conversation with the recently divorced high school girl friend that takes an uncomfortable, decidedly non-innocent turn.

    Thinking I can dance.

    Country Kitchen at 3 am

The return of Country Kitchen at 6 am.
There's no such thing as luck, only drunken invincibility. Make it happen.

Tila Tequila and Juggalos, America’s saddest punchline since the South.

    Yesterday was Thursday, Thursday
    Today is Friday, Friday (Partyin’)
    …
    Tomorrow is Saturday
    And Sunday comes afterwards

About 5 years ago, I had a Sunday-to-Wednsday business trip to Germany. I had to visit our offices in Duesseldorf on Monday and Wednesday, and had to spend a day with a vendor in Cologne on Tuesday. But I made the mistake of scheduling the trip during Fasching/carnival/Mardi Gras, and none of the people with whom I'd scheduled meetings bothered to decline them.

On Monday and Tuesday, the entire offices of both places were completely drunk - shots in the lobby, shots in the hallway, shots in the cubicles, etc. When I saw that our office was going to be worthless on Monday and probably Tuesday, I tried to bump up my vendor meeting by a day and my contact there gave a hearty "come on down!" (Duesseldorf and Cologne are only about 30 miles apart). If anything, conditions were WORSE at the vendor.

Both company's offices were in the downtown areas along the Fasching parade routes. Both companies just gave up and said there was no way to avoid the party. It was kind of surreal. I even had my tie cut in half by a 20-something junior analyst at the vendor - and apparently that meant I was supposed to have sex with her. So I did what anyone would do, I called my boss in the states, told him I wasn't going to get anything done here on Monday or Tuesday, and that everyone was going to be completely hung-over on Wednesday, so I was calling it. I jumped on a train to Munich and stayed with friends from my mission for a couple days. We went skiing near Kitzbuehel...

I'm glad I wasn't paying for the $10K that the trip cost. What a waste.

landpoke, if you're a fan of rodeos, next week is the big one in Salt Lake - the Days of '47 Rodeo.

I can't promise debauchery, but I can promise that you'll have fun like you've never experienced. There's still time for you to sign up and participate in the Wild Cow Milking competition.

Here's a link, just in case you're interested.

Somedays I enjoy being on a night shift. This will be one of them. I will follow this thread with interest starting around 1 a.m.

Prepare to be disappointed. I reached my breaking point early tonight. Happens to the best of us, or so I tell myself.

Please expound on Will Regret #5. Pictures are always nice, but I'm particularly interested to hear about the potential cat fight between hippie and harlot. I'm also mildly curious to know if the recently ex'd husband is large, jealous, and/or unstable.
