Name my Baby Girl

My wife is due to give birth to our third child in about a month and its going to be a baby girl. We're both really excited to have another little girl (we have a 7 year old boy and a 3 year old girl now). Only problem is, we're drawing a collectively blank on a name. With my other kids there was no problem -- names were picked out and cemented in place long before now. This time around its been much more difficult.

So I'm asking for the board's help. Our other kids have names that are fairly common, especially over the years, but not super common today: Sam and Lucy. We'd like something in that same vein, something that is sort of "classic" but sort of uncommon these days. My wife and I both grew up with tons of other kids with our same first names in school and we want to reduce the possibility of that with out kids, without naming them something crazy or made up.

So, any suggestions? If I get enough names I'll make a poll and ask everyone what the favorites are. Then, if I don't like them, I'll totally disregard everyone's suggestions and do whatever I want. TIA.

We're in the same situation you are - our other kids names were easy and chosen months in advance. With this one, we can't seem agree. Similarly, we want a name that isn't too common, but not weird either.

Kate and Megan are two names I'm liking right now.

Riley, Ryley, Rylee, or Rilee.

If that doesn't work for you, I'll check out the other names on the primary class lists in my ward.

In all seriousness, I've noticed a slight change towards more traditional names. In my daughter's nursery there are two Rachels and even a Sarah. My daughter also has a traditional name. There were more traditional names in all than crazy-ass "ooh that sounds cute" names which was the standard between the mid 90s and a few years ago.

Here are the first names of the kids in my past two primary classes:

4. Madison
5. Trey
6. Becker
7. Tyson
8. Ty
9. Tyce (if you were having a boy, I would not suggest any name that begins with Ty)
10. Jamison
11. Carson
12. Joshua

Out of that list, I think only Joshua and Ty (I think it was short for Tyler were what could be called traditional). Although I do remember a couple Carsons and Jamisons from high school.
