I paid $75 a square foot last year and I have a solid, if unspectacular house.

You can buy a modest condo in Summerlin for less than that. Much less, if you're not looking for TPC."Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."
Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

Our lease is up next year and we are considering buying if we stay. $600/SF for a new place in Harlem is a "good deal".
Edit: This combined with crazy common area fees for most condos make it almost impossible for mortals like me to buy a comfortable place.

Less than what? I can't wait to see how cheaply I can move my family of 6 into a condo.Originally posted by Topper View PostYou can buy a modest condo in Summerlin for less than that. Homes in my neck of the woods are $25-$45, if you take the wheels off yourself. Seriously, I sometimes wonder if I live on the same planet as you people. I built a home 6 years ago and didn't cut any corners. With land and all utilities, I'm into it for about $80. I did a lot of work myself, and I was the general contractor, so that saved a little. Also, there is no building code up here, so no inspectors, and the only permit I had to get was for a septic system. I think new homes in town cost $80-$160 if you hire a general contractor to do everything.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostI was mind blown that you can buy anything at $150 a sq foot. Then $92, $88 and $75 showed up. Wow. That is amazing.sigpic

Very true. In fact, I wonder if they should combine Dallas wards in the late summer months like they did when I was a student.Originally posted by Paperback Writer View PostFor sure, unless one is in Moliere's pool 24/7 during the Houston summer. The home was spectacular. Upgraded lighting and large detached garage with a nice pool and spa. However, the lot sucked as the backyard was small (would have been without the pool) and it was at the entrance of a subdivision. Guess $92/sq ft was about right but we won't be paying it. Hopefully something else opens up during the summer that fits the criteria.Originally posted by Paperback Writer View PostFor sure, unless one is in Moliere's pool 24/7 during the Houston summer.
