F&#% You Car!!!

Every time I have serious car problems this runs through my mind:

    Obviously NSFW or kids

So I found out that I have $3500 of transmission work to repair my car that is worth about $3200. So I limped it all the way to SLC and will be trading it in when I get back from DC on Sunday. God will probably make sure I get a bad deal for spending that much money on Sunday, but such is life. :anger:

My last car, a hand-me-down, blew a head gasket last summer. I drove it for the next few months, filling up the radiator with coolant after every drive. The mechanic estimated the repair at $5000. I'm sure it would have been more. Seemed like too much for a car valued at $2300. I gave it to the kidney foundation and bought my first new car ever.

What are you going to get JIC?

Does this mean you don't want to buy my headset any more?
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

No, I am definitely still good for the headset(priorities and all).

I am looking at a crossover of some sort. We rented a Mureno in hawai'i and I really liked the kid carrying/cargo space that the 3rd fold down seat gave us.

We recently bought a 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited and we love it. Not sure it would have enough seat belts for you (5), but you may want to check it out. Well-designed car, handles beautifully, gets good mileage, and has a great warranty. Don't get a leftover 2009 version. They have a bigger engine in 2010 with better mileage.

thanks for the info. this will be my primary work drive car, but I need to haul multiples to practice etc. 5 belts may be enough. How is the cargo area for size?

Great. The back seats fold down when you need a little more room. There is also a recessed storage area in the back under a lid. Good for storing first aid kit, barf bags, blanket, etc.

JIC, I think it is illegal to sell a car on Sunday in the state of Utah. You might have to wait until Monday.

We looked seriously at the Santa Fe when we were shopping last December. Select models offer the third row seating, but it was difficult to find those used. We really liked the way it handled and ran, but we just couldn't find one in our price range with the third row, and we weren't in a position to buy new.

They no longer offer the third row. They said it only sold wel in Utah.

That explains it. I suppose with the addition of the Veracruz to their lineup they don't really need the third row in the Santa Fe.

Is the Veracruz a fullsize SUV?

So God has punished me. There isn't a dealer on the wasatch front that opens on Sunday. I now have to deal with local dealers
