Anyone know much about Zions Bank?

As in how it is to work for them? Any unique facets of corporate culture that are worth mentioning? What's the general mood/outlook there? I know what they just told Wall Street in their quarterly earnings report, but does that actually jibe with the mood over at State & South Temple?

Any input at all would be appreciated...

I worked for them as a teller back in my college days. I thought they were a good company to work for, but I'll admit that my experience is limited in that aspect. What kind of position are you talking about? I only know people who are branch managers, but if you want I can put you in touch with them.

I've been talking to them about a position at the HQ of the holding company - Zionsbancorp. It reports directly to their incoming Chief Credit Officer (he starts on Monday). My final interview will be with the new CCO either late this week or next week.

My current position is a good one, but it is kind of a dead-end job. To move up, I'd have to relocate or my boss would have to leave. The Zions job would open up a whole bunch of opportunities to me, and would actually have a future and a career path coming out of it. Plus, essentially all the future opportunities would be right here in SLC. The fact that I'd work directly for an Executive VP and corporate bank officer would also be a definite plus...

After leaving the Secret Service, my BIL took a job with Zion's. He works in fraud and identity theft. He enjoys what he does and enjoys working for Zion's . Not sure if that helps with your decision.

I worked for them many years ago. I liked it until someone showed me a gun and took all my money.

I've known quite a few career folks at zions. Now, most of them are on the retail banking side of it but they all like the way they're treated, they feel the pay is good and their benefits are too. That is all I can say. I've never heard long time employee offer serious complaints about the company.

A friend of mine just got laid off from Zions, maybe about 2 months ago. He's at the end of his severance package now. I think he worked in Equities but I'm not sure.

For what it's worth, he always liked working there. Dont know how he feels now.

I know about a dozen employees that left the bank I work for to go to Zions. All of them seem to be happy and I think are still there. Take that for what it's worth, only one of them was I sad to see go. Most were hourly wage, individual contributors.

I do have a neighbor about 4 houses down who has been in their business leasing department for years. He seems quite happy.

Police report and newspaper link or it didn't happen, which is a fancy way of saying, "please share your story."

I used to date a woman who was in corporate compliance with Zions. I could tell you stories.

Kids in general these days seem more socially retarded...

None of them date. They hang out. They text. They sit in the same car or room and don't say a word...they text. Then, they go home and whack off to internet porn.

I think that's the sad truth about why these kids are retards.
