Quickbooks v. Peachtree

My mom switched her company from Peachtree to Quickbooks. Something about billing statements and being able to easily post payments from third-party sources (e.g., Paypal) was much simpler. She and my wife do most of the billing. I'll ask her if I speak to her tomorrow.Originally posted by landpoke View PostAny thoughts? Personal preference is that I hate PeachTree. Last time I used it, it was pretty limited in what it could do but just could handle more transactions than QuickBooks. QuickBooks isn't perfect, but it's pretty foolproof. If you're just billing for services, it should work great; if you're in some sort of specialty industry, then my answer is "depends."Originally posted by landpoke View PostAny thoughts? As the self-appointed board CPA I would say that I have no idea. Sorry, I deal with really large companies and frankly I'm partial to PeopleSoft.Originally posted by landpoke View PostAny thoughts? Pluses, minuses, personal preferences etc. would be appreciated.
I do have some exposure to small businesses and most people I know use Quickbooks but I have no idea why they use it over Peachtree or any other software.
If you are in manufacturing are you going to have to do product costing and other managerial accounting gibberish like that?"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf
