I didn't know you had gout along with everything else, good grief

      Glad you came through okay.

Good to hear wuap. When you wake from your vicoden induced stupor, you will be able to curse your previous doctors(as I have for you).

Now they've given my Tylux for the pain. It says "Fed law prohibits refills" on the bottle, so I'm guessing this is the 'good stuff.' Right now, it's not doing much. I'm home from the hospital, and I am feeling better than I was yesterday, but the pain is more focused now, and I can't find a comfortable resting position.

I'll allow your curses to speak for me. I'm sure yours are part of a secret Hippocratic tongue that I don't know about. But, by Apollo, I'm glad for your help these many months.

My Adderall, when I remember to make the appointment and get a refill, says the same thing. Damn Type 2 Drugs.

the intentional/unintentional humor of this made me laugh so hard the nurses thought I needed a shot of valium

I was hoping someone would catch it.

Waaaaaa. You can't handle my tastefully-rendered surgical illustration, but you don't mind ewth8tr's gigantic frostbitten penis? After all, there was a 'banana' of sorts in it.

ewth8tr, I've given you gold here, you'd better spin it into something epic.

Well, I'm sure it's huge at the Mall, but I don't think it'll last the Summer.

So, after three days of moderate post-op pain, on Friday I awoke with a case of "gas" that was so bad that it hurt to breathe deeply. Over the weekend, I caught my kids stomach flu. Now, this morning, the pain has decreased from a general pain when I breathe deeply, to a location just beside where my pre-op pain was. It hurts worse than it did before surgery.

I was promised that I would be healed in my blessing. I am not healed. I am hurting, badly. I cannot take a deep breathe without a very strong pain in my side. This is worse than before. Now, I don't have pain when I eat, and the referred pain is gone, but the new pain is worse than it was.

I tried anti-gas drops, Miralax, a Fleet enema. Nothing. I'm now supposed to take 500 mg of Naproxen and 10/1000 of Tylux for the next two days until I go see the surgeon again on Wed.

This is agonizing. I'm starting to lose hope. Seriously.

Did your physician set any expectations for how long the post-op recovery would take and what you might experience during that time? Is this completely out of line with expectations?
