I know that it acts as a phone as long as your actual phone is right next to you but for some reason you don't want to use it.Originally posted by old_gregg View Postmy apple watch got here this morning. still not 100% sure what it does, but it seems cool.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

I got a Samsung watch through work a month or so ago that I thought I'd wear once and put in a drawer somewhere, but I've found that I like it. Unlike the Apple watch, it can function on its own - don't need my phone in my pocket though I usually do have it with me. I get all my calls, emails, and texts on it, and I can reply directly from the phone. It's got its own GPS and does all the fitness stuff as well."It's devastating, because we lost to a team that's not even in the Pac-12. To lose to Utah State is horrible." - John White IV

So you use the watch to read emails and texts but use the phone to reply?Originally posted by kccougar View PostI got a Samsung watch through work a month or so ago that I thought I'd wear once and put in a drawer somewhere, but I've found that I like it. I've had an Apple watch for a bit now:
Voice text only, but it works insanely well
You can answer your phone in it
Has a convoluted way to take pictures on it using your phone
I get push notifications from my phone
It's only cool for the Mickey time keeping face. And it's comfortable.

No, with the Samsung you can do everything from your watch (without the phone at all). The Apple watch requires you to use your phone.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostSo you use the watch to read emails and texts but use the phone to reply?"It's devastating, because we lost to a team that's not even in the Pac-12. Yeah, that was a typo. I can reply directly from the watch, not the phone.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostSo you use the watch to read emails and texts but use the phone to reply?"It's devastating, because we lost to a team that's not even in the Pac-12.
