    Surrounded by old people

A big part of my job is being surrounded by elderly people. As those that have reached a certain vintage are usually the ones that enjoy being campground hosts. I am wrapping up the plans to surround myself with over 250,000 oldsters in Quartzite, Arizona.

I am unsure if any of you have ever heard of this before, but every winter the town of Quartzite balloons from 1500 to 250,000+ as RVers converge for the world’s largest RV show. I will be there hiring campground hosts for the coming year. It will be an exciting trip and I am going to try to bring home a suitcase full of swag. The good news is we did just get a new RV so we will not be stuck in the old Minnie Winnie.

My in-laws were campground hosts at a campground in Coalville, UT when I met Mrs SMR. It wasn't an easy job, but I think they enjoyed it.

This sounds like a pretty cool job for me, once the boy leaves for college. Camping year round, painting an occasional outhouse, changing toilet paper rolls, cleaning up filthy outhouses (half the work centers on the outhouses, no?), and telling loud campers to pipe down after nine pm... not a bad life away from the smog.

Gonna get yourself a little hot cougar action eh? I hear those trade shows are literal orgies.
There's no such thing as luck, only drunken invincibility. Make it happen.

Tell me about it. The other day while stopped at a signal, hands resting on the top of the wheel, I leaned forward to look at something flying over my car. I got a whiff of the back of my hands, and I realized I smell like my grandpas used to. Really depressing, and I'm only 56 (although readers should note that my Wii Fit age is a youthful 38, thus qualifying me as "spry"). I'm thinking of dousing myself liberally with Axe before heading out the door in the morning. Until then, stay away; I'm hideous, Jerry!

Parts of me smell old beyond their years, and other parts have fresh baby smell.

The company that has the concession with Coalville (I have cousins in Henefer!) is based out of Orem. But has nearly 0 LDS employees. I always chuckle when I talk to them at shows.

That's because as you get older you feel free to scratch whatever itches whenever it itches wherever the itch is found. Thus your hands come to be a bit tainted.

btw, PaloAltoCougar comes up as Paleontology in my spell checker (I know the fact that I have a spell checker will come as a shock to many of you. I do, I am just to lazy to use it).

I am a number of years younger than PAC, so as long as we meet in the next few years, you will be fine.

Just in case, I may just give you a head nod when we meet. At best, a fist tap.

bviously a question of a young man. As you get older your sense of smell deteriorates, so you don't bother sniffing and you don't really care what it smells like becasue it doesn't bother you.

There are some disadvantages to geting older, but some real advantages, too.

Not a chance, pal. If we ever meet (say, in Dallas in Septmeber?) I am giving you a bear hug and a apt on the back and then, but only then, will I remind you of this thread.
