It's been exactly one year ago today that I joined CUF and become a part of something wonderful here. I value this place more than any other site on the web.
During that time, my stock has risen and fallen, often in wild swings. I've complained incessantly about health woes, financial woes, Braves woes, Johnny Lingo woes. I've learned that 2,000 word posts on free will or Borges do not really get responses. I suffered a rather public meltdown during the Time of the Boil. My immature descriptions of my wife's bosom were the nadir of my crash. I called BYU71 a racist asshole (I was half right). I have permanently pissed off BBB. Lebowski banned me once. Someone else (not sure) banned me again. Then, after complaining that CUF didn't get me, I finally got CUF and calmed down. I quit saying "fuck" because I respect LA Ute (and because, essentially, I got banned for abusive language) and started using <redacted>. My comments have worked their way into a couple of people's signatures, though sometimes very much out of context (ahem, FNPhat). I feel like I belong here now, and I hope to be a part of this place for another year. In homage to the year, I'll take a break from bananas today and use my original avatar.
Thank you, CUF, for making the last 365 days, and my first 365 days among you, a fun time, even if I was a pedantic-I-have-a-PhD-bleeding-heart-moderate bastard during some of it.
Tim, I blame you for the drastic drop in my productivity in 2009 vs 2008.
