Doesn't anyone else see people in pain here? I can't even bring myself to be mean about it. This guy has a mother somewhere. Maybe he childhood is the problem. But this isn't some guy who wants to be cool, this is a guy who wants a mask that he never has to take off so that no one will ever see him. What does a person have to feel inside for that to be a rational decision. I think the analogy is the person who has the disorder where their ears ring so badly that they have their auditory nerve severed rather than endure it. I just see pain.

It could be pain, it could be stupidity. Either way it is not about certainty of your life's path, IMO.

I have no idea what this person thought to brand himself for the rest of his life. He might have a social circle in which this choice is no more ridiculous than a Mormon's choice to wear garments. Whether Mormon or tattooed 'freak,' I admire in others that attribute I find lacking in myself -- a knowledge of what one hopes to do in life. The choice to tattoo one's face like this sets one down a course in life which is not entirely different than the choice to marry in the temple and live a life of faithful devotion. It might look different to you, but it doesn't look so different to me, and I doubt that I am alone in my assessment. Any judgment that any of us make of this man only holds sway at a place and moment in time. Who knows what will make sense the future? Folks pass all kinds of judgment over superficial things.

You are wrong. Tatooing a multicolored skull on your face is, in fact, entirely different than getting married in the temple, even when viewed at arms length frmo a purely temporal perspective. If you can't figure that out, then I can't help you here.
