Costco Space Heaters

Has anyone picked one of these up? Or do any of you have one of those electric space heaters?

My in-laws cranked one in their basement and it kept everything very cozy, but not too hot. Also, it didn't dry out the air with non-stop central heater blasting dry air all the time. It was a decent sized one, not one of the tiny ones some people keep under their office desk to keep their feet warm.

I was thinking about picking one up for our place to heat the downstairs a bit without making the upstairs unbearably hot.

My question....do these electric space heaters really jack up the electric bill? I can imagine our electric meter spinning off its axis when the heater is plugged in. If anyone has experience using these things, input is appreciated.

We heat our basement with one of these. Heats a big space, doesn't dry out the air and hasn't run our heating bill up that much. They are big, but man do they work.

We keep our house in the low-sixties at night so we use a couple of Lasko electric heaters for the kids rooms. They heat it up quickly and are temp controlled so they don't run all night. There hasn't been a significant increase in the bill, maybe ten bucks or so.

It isn't exactly that one, but something along those lines, yes.

Sounds like you and YOhi0 have not really seen a huge jump in cost, so maybe I will go get one.

The one at my in-laws worked like a charm. Heated the downstairs nicely and relatively quickly.

For the next month or so, might be nice to have. Turn it on when I leave for work and have it warm up the downstairs for when the wife and kids come down for breakfast.
