And you would think the world has come to an end. To me, it's kind of a non-event (although I did have my wife drive me to work because the tires on my car are really bad in the snow, as I learned last winter in Utah).

Nothing has stuck to the roads downtown yet, but 1-3 inches or so of accumulation is expected.

I am told that this is the first time since records have been kept that it has snowed in two consecutive years in Houston.

In related news, I ran last night in full Under Armour Cold Gear regalia. Tomorrow morning (anticipated temperature: 29) I will do the same.

Twice we had school cancelled in Chattanooga because it was snowing in Nashville or Memphis and it ended up not snowing at all.

Growing up in Texas, it was always a thrill to get any level of snow, even a dusting. One year I actually built a snowman. Some one kicked it down and I promply re-built it use in Concrete blocks covered with snow. If someone else was going to kick it down, they were going to get a broken toe.

Incidentally, full Under Armour Cold Gear regalia for running began in early october. Last Thursday's race was on slick frosty roads. Running season is over, ski season has begun!

An interesting fact: The previous record low is 31 degrees. It's supposed to hit 22 degrees tonight. The record low will not only be broken, it will be shattered just like Michael Johnson shattered the 200M record in 1996.
